Ventilated Rainscreen Facade System – Illustration

The Ventilated Rainscreen Façade is a multi-layered building envelope providing both technical and aesthetic benefits.  The VRFS consists of an outer layer made of different materials that is mechanically connected to the inner layer (a new or existing wall) using a substructure made of aluminum or steel, and a ventilated air gap of varying width which usually contains the thermal insulation in contact with the inner layer.

The advent of mechanical fastening systems along with technically advanced, durable porcelain has completely transformed porcelain panel cladding on exteriors. Porcelain panels can now be installed independently from the substrate, thereby avoiding the build-up of stresses and the resultant risk of breakage and detachments.
