A BUILT DESIGN STUDIO
AB April 2014 ON THE LEONARDO CAMPUS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

The aim of the teaching project is with the students to design a prototype of a sustainable residential unit to design and scale construction of 1: 1. For students in architecture, it is difficult to develop new and better building structures, if they lack the access and experience for building and artisanal dimension. Under the guidance and in collaboration with industry partners, students will now not only plan the prototype, but also build yourself. In the project, the following scientific and technical objectives are to focus on: – development of structures with a high proportion of wood and renewable materials – combination of modern production methods (CAD, CAM, CNC) with traditional construction methods – non-recyclable and purity separable constructions – Recycling of building construction (design to disassemble) – Integration of thermal insulation – energy in the building envelope – planning and implementation strategies for simple and cost-effective construction
